I get the question asked often of, "Are online classes as good as in-person classes?" My answer is always a definite, "Yes!". My reasons are many but the bottom line is because in all of my previous private lessons and group lessons online, we have been able to accomplish/learn the same as in person classes. Furthermore, when I ask all students their enjoyment of online classes, I receive only very positive responses. I do understand the concerns of younger students maybe not being able to stay focused online yet. For those students, in person classes remain my recommendation.

Registration:

Common Questions/Class Format/Class Procedures:

Q1: If you have different skill levels in each class, how will my child learn among all of the other different skill students?
A1: I place each student in their appropriate level. Then, while I am teaching one level (at least 1-2 skills each class), the other students are playing practice games amongst themselves. I then switch students from these practice games to instruction. These procedures are the same as in-person classes.

Q2: How many skills are in each level of your curriculum and how many levels are there? When does my child graduate to the next level?
A2: I have an 8 level curriculum with 11-12 skills in each level. I then have a Quiz and Final Exam system where once I know students are ready for these, the student takes these and when they pass, they move onto the next level.

Q3: What is the format of each class?
A3: We will begin with warm-up exercises for 30 minutes. The next 45 minutes are the practice games and level group instruction. The final 15 minutes are for student questions or other group instruction.

Q4: How do I know how my child is progressing?
A4: I will email at the beginning of each month all skills your child has passed/learned and are yet to pass/learn. (same procedures as in-person).

Q5: I am concerned my child will not focus by themselves on the computer?
A5: I will have sight of each student and make all efforts to keep each student focused and on task. This is the same issue as in-person classes as many times, students wonder off in their minds, not pay attention, and I need to bring them back to focus.
